Alireza Sepahi: A Young Man Whose Life Was Taken by the Islamic Republic, but Whose Love and Dreams Could Never Be Executed

At dawn on Monday, October 5, 2026 (13 Mehr 1405), as the morning call to prayer echoed through Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, the gallows once again claimed the lives of young sons of Iran. Alireza Sepahi, a young man whose life had barely begun, was executed alongside Alireza Raeisi by the Islamic Republic’s machinery of judicial murder and brutality.

The execution of Alireza Sepahi marks yet another dark chapter in the bloody record of the Islamic Republic, a ruthless regime that has spent decades destroying the lives and futures of Iran’s youth through torture, imprisonment, repression, sexual violence, and the gallows.

Alireza was a young man with countless dreams. He had the right to live, to fall in love, and to build a future for himself. Yet that opportunity was taken from him forever.

Even more heartbreaking is the story of his love for Mahshad Keshani. According to published reports, the two were married while in prison, yet they were denied even a final farewell.

How tragic it is that in our homeland, instead of celebrating their marriage and beginning a life together, two young people were forced to say goodbye to their dreams under the shadow of the gallows.

The corrupt Islamic Republic may have the power to take human lives, but it can never erase their memories or extinguish the people's desire for freedom and justice.

Alireza is not merely another name on the list of those executed. He represents an entire generation whose right to life, dreams, and future has been sacrificed to political repression.

The author firmly believes that a day will come when those responsible for these crimes will be held accountable before the law and the court of justice.

With this conviction, I conclude these reflections by honoring the memory of Alireza Sepahi and all those who have lost their lives in the pursuit of freedom.

No to executions. No to repression. Yes to freedom and human dignity.

Woman, Life, Freedom.
